Vogue has picked up on the trend for soft browns and dark creams as we move from autumn to winter.
In particular, the word 'hygge' has been appearing again - a Danish word that used when "acknowledging a feeling or moment, whether alone or with friends, at home or out, ordinary or extraordinary as cosy, charming or special".
Of course, to assign that word to an actual colour is taking it a bit too far but the idea is that blondes, brunettes and redheads are switching to warmer tones, perhaps with soft highlights or lowlights to complement.
It's not all about playing down colour though - as Vogue's article explains redheads can bring out auburn tones with low lights and highlights - make sure they complement your skin tone though.
To capture the essence of the season use Express Colour or Cool Blonde Highlights from Smart Beauty - salon quality hair products to inspire you at home.

Welcome back to the land of the living! It's been a long time since we've had news from you. Why did you stay away in the first place? Because we understand how hard it is to be locked down for this long, especially when there are so many things happening in the world that need your attention. Or maybe it was because you're just trying to save up some more time for fun stuff like getting new hair extensions or trying out a new colour. Whatever happened, we're glad you're back and looking great as always!

Ombré hair is the latest trend in hair care. It's not just a new way to dye your hair, but also a way to disguise outgrown roots and keep your colour fresh. The effect is created by dyeing only the ends of your hair with lighter shades, leaving the middle section its natural colour. This gives you a subtle blend between black and grey tones, adding interest to any style or cut you choose.
