Can you believe Christmas is a month and 4 days away? Just enough time to think about hair and outfits for the upcoming parties and celebrations. This year, it’s all about fun youthful looks and Emma Thompson for sure, knows how to have fun!
Dame Emma Thompson is an Oscar-winning actor, screenwriter, comedian, and activist, but now she can add up another role to her bio - hair trendsetter. Last week Ms Thompson shocked everyone at the Covent Garden Christmas party reveal with her new pink hair colour. Since then, Emma Thompson pink hair has been posted all over social media and said to be a "Christmas hair trend". Emma's hairstylist, Lewis Pallet who is responsible for her fantastic pink hair makeover, dyed her underlayers in dark brown to make this look edgy and yet maintainable.
For the makeup, Emma used matching pink eyeshadows, coral blush and red lipstick to get into the festive mood. To soften her bold hair and makeup, she wore a comfy white jumper, tweed trousers and a faux fur beige jacket. Match your pink, lilac or red hair colour with a simple outfit to get a versatile look that's appropriate for the Christmas day and your office party.
Even though Emma is 60, she isn’t afraid to experiment with her looks and demonstrates that age is just a number. We are used to seeing her with the icy blonde hair colour but Emma Thompson’s pink hair colour suits her just as much. Perhaps, she was inspired by Keira Knightley pink hair from The Nutcracker? Whatever it was, Emma just set up the holiday hair trend and we can’t wait to see what she brings next.
Name a better duo, we’ll wait 😂 #EmiliaClarke and #EmmaThompson switched on the Covent Garden Christmas Lights last night and led 6000 people doing karaoke to George Michael's 'Last Christmas' 🤩 https://t.co/gLkDO0RwyE pic.twitter.com/7XW3uK8aCn

Meantime, here’s more pink hair colour inspiration for this festive season from Cate Blanchett and Dame Helen Mirren who ditched their blonde hair colour and went pink. Cate Blanchett stunning rose gold hair proves that 50 is the new 30, and so does Julia Roberts' hair!
Dame Helen Mirren has also embraced this youthful hair trend when she appeared with cute pink bob at the BAFTA awards earlier this year. She told reporters from DailyMail:
‘I just thought it would be fun to dye my hair pink. I mean, honestly, I was watching America’s Next Top Model and the season where there were the British girls. Well, the British girl who won, she had pink hair, and I thought: "That looks really pretty." So I’m copying her, basically’.
If you want to leave your comfort zone and try something different, Christmas and New Years is a perfect time. Choose your pink hair dye or red hair dye and surprise everyone with your wonderful hair colour transformation!

Ombré hair is the latest trend in hair care. It's not just a new way to dye your hair, but also a way to disguise outgrown roots and keep your colour fresh. The effect is created by dyeing only the ends of your hair with lighter shades, leaving the middle section its natural colour. This gives you a subtle blend between black and grey tones, adding interest to any style or cut you choose.
